Nightmare Seekers

A reverse hide-and-seek horror game. This prototype was built to pitch the game for full development to our professors and a panel of industry professionals, and I designed the level for the Arena phase.

02 Level design

The Arena, from sketch to blockout

I designed the level for the Arena phase: a top-down sketch first, then the same layout blocked out in engine.

Hand-drawn top-down sketch of the arena: an irregular room with an angled wall, a walled-off block in the middle and small boxes in the corners.
FIG. 01Hand-drawn top-down layout of the arena.
Top-down view of the arena blocked out in engine: dark walls around an irregular room, lit in warm pools of light, with two orange-lit corners and marker boxes along the edges.
FIG. 02The arena blocked out in engine, top-down, lit in warm pools with dark gaps between them.
