02 Production
Leading a team of five
I directed a five-student team to ship a cricket-statistics card game for Android with local multiplayer, as lead designer, producer and UI designer. It was also my first time making assets for a card game.

03 Main challenges
Three things that were hard
01 · Design
Making a card game fun
Covering all the possible moves was a major design challenge, and we paid close attention to onboarding.
02 · Art direction
Blending 3D and 2D
Our core team was heavily 3D, but we had the look of 2D in mind, so we built a platform where both could do what they do best.
03 · Code
Making a save system
We had never built one before. It became the inventory system that carries a player's squad from scene to scene.
04 Content pipeline and balance
55+ cards, one pipeline
Pipeline
Every card, tracked
I managed the pipeline for every card, using generative AI for reference art and coordinating external artists for UI and VFX.
Balance model
Balanced on real numbers
A pool of 55+ unique player cards, each with stats for 6 balls, mapped in an Excel model to real-world cricket performance data.
Decisions
Executive balance calls
I made the calls on abilities from playtest data and real statistics, iterating until no single card dominated.
